Saudi Arabian Aramco oil giant deal with FIFA derided as ‘sport-washing’
This past April, FIFA announced a commercial partnership with Saudi Arabia’s state-owned oil company, Aramco. The deal, which is in place until the end of 2027, gives the energy company sponsorship rights for the men’s World Cup in 2026 and the Women’s World Cup the following year.
