Sonic boom heard as RAF Typhoon fighters scrambled to Heathrow-bound flight after 'bomb threat' - A sonic boom was heard over parts of England as the fighters reached supersonic speeds

Two RAF jets were scrambled after a bomb threat was reportedly made on an Air India flight to Heathrow on Thursday. The Air India Boeing 777 was flying from Mumbai to London when it sent out emergency signals over the North Sea.

The captain of the plane could be heard telling air traffic control that the aircraft had a "suspected bomb" on board.
