An MSI presentation says that AMD's Ryzen 9000X3D does not have substantially higher performance than the typical version.

Somebody goofed — and now AMD’s unannounced Ryzen 9000X3D desktop processors have been partially revealed. But like Intel’s new Arrow Lake desktop CPUs, it doesn’t look like they’ll be a huge performance improvement on their predecessors. If so, that’s a shame given how poorly received AMD’s Ryzen 9000 was, to begin with.

Leaked benchmarks While punters had been hoping that Ryzen 9000X3D-series might save the brand, it appears that is not going to happen. According to a leaked MSI presentation spotted by Tom’s Hardware,

With a base clock of 4.7GHz, the 9800X3D is set to be significantly faster than the current fastest gaming CPU, the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D.

Intel even says AMD's 7800X3D will be slightly faster in gaming than its own just-announced Core Ultra 200 series.
