The dedicated detectives of the SVU squad are back, and Law & Order: SVU Season 26 Episode 1 introduced a new one. TV Fanatic writers Jasmine Blu, Laura Nowak, Sara Trimble, and Jack Ori got together to discuss their first impressions of new detective Kate Silva.

SVU Season 26, called "Fractured." The return of Law & Order: SVU in the fall 2024 TV schedule also marked an addition to the cast, and she's just the latest over the past few years of Benson attempting to fill Rollins' vacancy.

Law & Order: SVU Season 26 will be available to watch live or the day after it airs through Peacock, NBC's streaming service. The service will be free and ad-supported, while the Premium version is $5.99/month with ads or ad-free for $11.99/month.

Special Victims Unit (SVU) are in for a treat as the long-running crime procedural returns for its 26th season. The new season premiered on October 2, 2024, continuing the legacy of gripping cases and courtroom drama led by the ever-dedicated Captain Olivia Benson,

The investigation uncovers that the victim had been attending women’s empowerment meetings and practicing saying no—to the suspect. Between a video testimony from the victim herself and ADA Sonny Carisi’s ( Peter Scanavino) questioning of the suspect on the stand, they get a unanimous guilty verdict.

SVU, will return with Season 26 in a few days, but before that, NBC has unveiled a series of images from the premiere episode via TV Insider. The episode, titled “Fractured,” will air on Thursday, October 3,
