A Congress Party delegation, including top leaders like KC Venugopal and Rahul Gandhi, plans to meet the Election Commission on October 9th to address concerns over alleged EVM malfunctions following their recent defeat in Haryana to the BJP.

On Tuesday, the Congress said the election results in Haryana are both unexpected and shocking, adding that they cannot accept the outcome following a sudden shift from early leads in their favor to a decisive victory for the BJP.

In his first statement after the Congress' debacle in Haryana, Rahul Gandhi said, on Wednesday, that the party will inform the Election Commission of India (ECI) about the complaints concerning the counting process.

The Commission further said that approximately 25 rounds across all the constituencies are being updated every five minutes, which testifies dissemination of counting process in a speedy manner.
