Iowa Department of Public Safety commissioner says there was evidence of "copycat behavior" in the Jan. 4 Perry school shooting.

The director of the Iowa Department of Public Safety talked in detail for the first time today about the investigation into the January shootings at Perry High School that left the principal, one student and the 17-year-old student shooter dead.

A report released Thursday reveals Principal Dan Marburger was shot twice during an attack at the school as he attempted to plead with the shooter.

Police do not know from where Dylan Butler obtained the shotgun used in the Perry shooting but believe he took it "without the owner's knowledge."

Investigators on Friday provided more details about the heroic actions of the Perry school principal who died after being shot during an attack.
