Sensex down over 1% ; Nifty slips below 24,500 on continued FPI selloff
Domestic stock market indices Sensex and Nifty plunged by over 1 per cent each on Tuesday amid concerns over continued selling by foreign portfolio investors (FPIs). The BSE’s 30-share Sensex tanked 930.55 points, or 1.15 points, to end at 80,220.72. The broader Nifty fell 309 points, 1.25 per cent, to close at 24,472.10.
